Glass painting vases

I made this for my mother over a year ago.

An Arabic henna design was scaled out onto parchment and traced onto a tube shaped glass vase with light markers (they fade out - excellent for fabrics).

Then using glass outliners and inks the design was filled in. With these projects you need a little (a lot) of patience. Depending on the room temperature (my studio is a dungeon), the paints take a few hours to dry completely.

My 30th article on Muslims In England.com: "Kyrgyzstan's War With Itself"

Read the latest article on Muslims In England explaining briefly the current civil unrest in Kyrgyzstan and who started it all.

The clashes between Kygryz and Uzbeks is an event that has made the headlines but like most things, today's news is tomorrow's fish and chips. As a Muslim I am concerned with war of any kind - as part of the global Muslim community I fail to see the passionate reaction or awareness that is usually born for Palestinian or Arab turmoil. Kyrgyzstan is a home to many people. It needs to pain you if they are in pain, not only if it's over holy land or believing people.
